Originally chartered in 1955, Troop 773 is the oldest of three Scouts BSA units based in El Segundo, CA.
Troop 773 recruits from the surrounding area, not just El Segundo, so we have a mix of Scouts from different schools, religions and ethnicities. This is one of the special components that makes Troop 773 a rare option to the usual Troop which receives most of its Scouts from the same Pack year after year.
Troop 773 is an all-boy, Scout-led troop whose focus is leadership development. A group of dedicated parents support all of the Scouts. Although advancement is encouraged, it is not the sole focus. In recent years, we have produced more than double the national average of Eagle Scouts.
We conduct a variety of community service projects. Some of the recent beneficiaries of these service projects include local churches, a nature conservancy, a school for the deaf, a homeless shelter, the American Diabetes Association, and an animal shelter.
Annually, we attend a week-long Summer Camp. Recent locations we have attended include: Camp Fiesta Island, Camp Big Horn, Camp Oljato, and Camp Emerald Bay.
The El Segundo Scout House Association, which owns and operates the El Segundo Scout House, provides our meeting location. We participate annually in its Christmas Tree Lot fundraiser, which provides us with an annual source of funding for Scouts and adult leaders.
You and your son are invited to give us a look. We believe that you will like what you see!
We meet at the El Segundo Scout House
325 E Grand Avenue, El Segundo CA 90245
Meetings take place at 7:00 PM on Mondays.
Feel free to come check out a meeting to learn more about the Troop. Please contact us ahead of time in case we have an off-site activity planned for that week.
We are chartered by the El Segundo Rotary Club. The Rotary Club is an organization dedicated to community service, philanthropy, and making a difference locally, nationally and around the globe.
